The Walt Disney Company Earns Five Golden Globe Awards

The Walt Disney Company received a total of five Golden Globe® Awards at the 78th Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021.

Best Motion Pictures – Drama winner Searchlight Pictures’ “Nomadland” achieved an additional historical honor with the award for Best Director – Motion Picture: Chloé Zhao – the second woman to ever receive the win in the category.

Garnering its first two Golden Globe Awards since launching in 2019, Disney+ took home honors for Disney Pixar’s “Soul,” which was directed by Academy Award® winner Pete Docter; written by Kemp Powers & Mike Jones; starring voice talents of Phylicia Rashad, Questlove and Daveed Diggs; and featuring original jazz music by globally renowned musician Jon Batiste, and Oscar® winners Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. Hulu also hit a record with its first win for a Hulu Original film with Andra Day’s Best Actress performance in “The United States vs. Billie Holiday.”
