Disney On Ice is back! If you hadn’t heard, Disney On Ice presents Mickey’s Search Party kicked off in Orlando last night at Amway Center. I have always had a soft spot for these productions. There’s just something about watching Mickey Mouse coming out of those doors, on ice skates, waving to the crowd. And this show was no exception. As an FEI Family Ambassador*, we were invited to the opening night show.
About the Show
Join Mickey Mouse and his friends at Disney On Ice presents Mickey’s Search Party, an adventure filled with
world-class skating, high-flying acrobatics and unexpected stunts! Look for clues in the search for Tinker Bell
through immersive, fantastic worlds. Explore the colorful spirit realm of Coco, sail away with Moana as she
bravely saves her island, see Belle in the sky as the enchanted chandelier comes to life, and sing-along with
Elsa in the icy world of Frozen. Make memories during Aladdin, Toy Story and The Little Mermaid as the
search party becomes an all-out celebration!
What I Thought
I love Disney On Ice. Disney On Ice always is a fun, high energy show that brings families together for a memorable evening. This show was no exception. The show’s hosts, Alex & Isabella, were super energetic, invoking much crowd participation. The story was simple…Tinker Bell was captured by Captain Hook’s pirates, and only Disney magic could set her free. Where else can you find Disney magic besides Disney stories?
The first half of the show featured four stories, Beauty and the Beast, Toy Story, Moana and Coco. While all of the performers were extremely talented, we still are in awe over the Coco performance. It was amazing!
The second half of the show featured Aladdin, Little Mermaid and Frozen. These were outstanding. It still amazes me how, after seven years, Frozen can still illicit the loudest of shrieks from the youngest crowd. I do love hearing all the younger children seated by us singing the lyrics to “Let It Go.”
The ending of the show is always my absolute favorite, as all the characters and performers take to the ice in a grand finale. It was fun to spy a few bonus characters that were not in the show! My pictures do not do this show justice, but you can see a few pictures I took over on my Instagram account.
