Hi! I am the Neurotic Disney Kid - sharing my expert kid-opinion all about everything Disney! My favorite attraction is The Enchanted Tiki Room and my favorite park is Magic Kingdom. I love to read and take pictures!

disclosure: I was sent a copy of Evil Thing: A Villains Graphic Novel in order to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own. No other compensation was received. This post may contain affiliate links.

Happy Holidays! I’m so excited to share a new book with you today from my favorite author, Serena Valentino – perfect for a holiday gift for the teens you know that love to read! Introducing Evil Thing: A Villains Graphic Novel by Serena Valentino.

Cruella De Vil is possibly one of the most insane, evil Disney villains to exist. The crazy, yet fashionable antagonist of 101 Dalmatians seems cruel, heartless, and void of emotion. What, you may ask, drove her to be this husk of a human? How can someone be so malicious? Who would want to turn adorable little puppies into a fur coat? Evil Thing: A Villains Graphic Novel by Serena Valentino explains it all.

In Evil Thing, we learn that once Cruella did, in fact, have a heart. She fell in love. She was kind. Sort of.
Evil Thing takes you on a fascinating journey throughout Cruella’s life. It’s a story like no other. By the time you’ve turned the last page, maybe, just maybe, you may be a little sympathetic towards Cruella.

I was super excited when I received the graphic novel version of Evil Thing. I love graphic novels and I love the Villains series, so it was my two favorite things rolled into one. The illustrations, done by Arielle Jovellanos, were absolutely stunning. The illustrations were absolutely elegant and detailed, and matched the story beautifully.

Evil Thing: A Villains Graphic Novel is the graphic novel adaptation of Serena Valentino’s book Evil Thing. Serena Valentino’s storytelling skills bring stories to life, with detailed descriptions of the world and characters she has created. Action-packed, emotional, fascinating tales await in every book. Serena Valentino has always been my favorite author and if you asked me to pick my favorite book in the Villains series, I wouldn’t be able to give you an answer! I love all of her books so much and I am eagerly waiting for Never Never, the next book in the Villains series to be released!

Evil Thing is the 7th book in the Villains series. It tells the life and times of Cruella De Vil before she became the horrific villain in 101 Dalmations.

I’m NDK and this is my review!
