About the Movie
Super Heroes Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and The Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought possible. Directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feige and Stephen Broussard, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania also stars Jonathan Majors as Kang, David Dastmalchian as Veb, Katy O’Brian as Jentorra, William Jackson Harper as Quaz and Bill Murray as Lord Krylar.
What I Thought
When it comes to Marvel Studios’ movies, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania does not disappoint. But as far as Marvel movies go, this is not the best. The beginning is a bit crazy, and at times, the movie does seem to drag a bit. Being in the Quantum realm did strike a few Star Wars vibes, with crazy alien life, another language, and the fighting. Overall, the storyline picks up and gets better. Kathryn Newton’s performance as Cassie Lang was well done and could potentially be in line with the next generation of super heroes.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has a stellar cast, featuring a few familiar favorites, too! Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror, Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet Van Dyne, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Kathryn Newton as Cassie Lang, David Dastmalchian as Veb, Katy O’Brian as Jentorra, William Jackson Harper as Quaz and Bill Murray as Lord Krylar.
The bonus features available with this release are okay – we were not too impressed. We always watch deleted scenes after a movie, and these just felt more like unedited scenes. It was fun to watch Veb(Dastmalchian) not in animated form, but I would not exactly call it “deleted.” The gag reels showed the fun the actors had on the set. But overall, these were just ‘meh.’
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will make a fun family movie night for Marvel fans, it just may not be the movie you watch over and over again. Watch this behind the scenes look at Marvel Studios’ Ant–Man and the Wasp: Quantumania – Making MODOK
