Family movie night does not have to end once your little ones are high school age. Theater Camp, rated PG-13 by the MPAA for some strong language and suggestive/drug references, is a perfect choice for families of older kids. Starring Ben Platt and Molly Gordon, Theater Camp is an outrageously funny mockumentary about theater kids. The jokes are edgy enough to keep your teen laughing and off their phone for at least 90 minutes.
Theater Camp features many young, talented kids, with one thing on their minds – performing. Their rundown camp is the underdog camp, struggling to not shut down. These campers are determined to not let their camp get shut down and do all they can to make their last performance one that will save them.
Theater Camp is on level with its PG-13 rating. There is some crude humor, but nothing that would be alarming for older kids. As a mom of a 16 year old, it was nice to enjoy a new movie and laugh together with my teen. We would definitely watch this movie again – with s’mores!
