Temperatures are rising, so Hulu is staying in the loft and making it a “New Girl” summer!
To kick off your rewatch of the beloved series, available now on Hulu, creator Elizabeth Meriwether (FX’s “Dying for Sex”) is sharing her picks for essential summer episodes.
Summer is the season for weddings and failing to make out with people at weddings:
- “Wedding” (Season 1, Episode 3)
- “Elaine’s Big Day” (Season 2, Episode 25)
- “Landing Gear” (Season 5, Episode 22)
Summer is the season for trips that go horribly wrong:
- “See Ya” (Season 1, Episode 24)
- “Road Trip” (Season 5, Episode 17)
- “Single and Sufficient” (Season 6, Episode 3)
Finally, summer is about heat, in all its forms:
- “Heat Wave” (Season 5, Episode 9)
- “Cooler” (Season 2, Episode 15)
- “Quick Hardening Caulk” (Season 2, Episode 19)
Oh yeah, and a bonus episode featuring Schmidt getting painfully sunburned:

“New Girl”
New Girl is an ensemble comedy centering on a free-spirited young woman, her three male roommates and her best friend, as they navigate modern relationships and end up forming a charmingly dysfunctional – or strangely functional – family.
New Girl stars Zooey Deschanel, Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield, Lamorne Morris, and Hannah Simone.
The series was created by Elizabeth Meriwether, who executive produced along with Brett Baer, Dave Finkel, Jake Kasdan, Erin O’Malley, Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope. “New Girl” was produced by Chernin Entertainment in association with 20th Television. The series is distributed by Disney Entertainment.
