
Viva Pictures has signed on as co‑producer and secured North American distribution rights for the animated family sequel Animal Crackers 2: The Next Batch, the follow-up to the hit film Animal Crackers.
Slated for a theatrical release in North America in 2027, Animal Crackers 2 marks Viva Pictures fourth film in a growing slate of original film productions, with their titles On the Edge (directed by Octavio Rodriguez), Flamingo Flamenco (directed by Rob Spackling), and Unstable already in production.

Animal Crackers 2: The Next Batch follows Owen and Zoe as they temporarily leave the circus, and their daughter Mackenzie, in the hands of Chesterfield the Clown to chase a major cookie distribution deal. But when Mackenzie transforms into a monkey mid-performance and loses her magical cookie, the circus crew must embark on a wild quest to restore her true form and reunite the family.
The original Animal Crackers, which premiered on Netflix, featured an A-list voice cast including John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Danny DeVito, Ian McKellen, and Sylvester Stallone, became a beloved family favorite and cult hit, praised for its heartfelt story and visual charm.
The film is Produced by Nestor Dennis and Josè David Diaz at Blue House Films and executive produced Max Czertok at Iuvit Media Sales, whose growing animation portfolio includes Cooper: A Tale of Tails and Under the Mystic Moon, continues to represent international rights for the film and executive producers John R. Fessler and Scott Huneryager.
Animation Studio Hampa Studio in Spain is set as the animation service for the Picture and whose credits include such animation films as Little Big Panda, The Winx, Giants The Legend and Treasure of Barracuda to name a few.
