Quick, pull up a seat! It’s time to tune in. The AW GEE! WOW game show is starting soon. It’s the third collaboration between Norwich-born, London-based fashion stylist Harry Lambert and ZARA. This collection’s designs are inspired by Disney’s Mickey & Friends: Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, Donald Duck and Goofy, to serve up inspiration and spirit. It expands across men’s, women’s and, for the first time, childrenswear. Lambert has created these pieces to bring unbridled joy to the wardrobe, inspired by his long-time love of Disney stories and characters.

The idea of matchy-matchy is also key to allowing the whole family to join in on the fun with the multiple coordinating pieces. ‘It’s been 30 years since I first met Mickey Mouse and his friends at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. It felt like such a pivotal moment in my childhood, and my family and I returned many times to get together and be transported to a world of fantasy and fun,’ says Lambert. ‘I always felt super comfortable there and just… joyful. Disney holds so many happy memories for me, so it’s been so exciting to work with them closely and find inspiration from the special guests to create my third ZARA collection.’

Sonia Samra, EMEA Vice President of Fashion, Home & Beauty at Disney Consumer Products said: ‘Our collaboration with Harry and Zara marks a bold, sophisticated evolution of Disney’s Mickey & Friends. The collection blends beloved character heritage with modern design, delivering a curated style that’s iconic, playful, and refreshingly contemporary’.

AW GEE! WOW lifts vibrant hues from Disney’s colour palette, while the overarching silhouette leans towards a timeless, retro feel that takes direct inspiration from Lambert’s new friends’ signature styles and mixes them up with his design style. Think bold buttons, neat collars (sometimes fluffy!), and exaggerated silhouettes for both celebration dresses and everyday jerseys, all rendered in fun shades and paired with tactile textures.

The beloved Disney characters’ well-known phrases bring humour and authenticity to the collection, quoted plainly over baseball caps and raglan tees. Exaggerated proportions can be spotted amongst all three lines to give a characterful approach to the AW GEE! WOW wardrobe.

For womenswear, matching sets bookend the offering by way of a fuzzy faux-fur skirt set and bow intarsia knitted cardigan and trouser co-ord, while another is a natty short suit complete with faux-fur trim. Full looks can be achieved, but so too can more idiosyncratic combinations through bits and pieces infused with others to bring the AW GEE! WOW spirit to all wardrobes, for all occasions. Hemlines are kept high, with bold polka dots and sweet pastel satins making up partywear. In contrast, denim is kept louche and relaxed, to be paired with slouchy tees and cosy knits. Black, like a cartoon’s outline, punctuates the collection to bring a depth that allows other colours to pop.

For menswear, an overarching sportswear feel is realized thanks to vintage-inspired activewear jackets in denim, baby pink and racing red or through a blue and brown classic tracksuit. Smart trousers and oversized coats in heritage tartans complete the tailoring selection, with shorter-length options employed to bring all eyes to shining metallic trainers. Overall, whether in the knitwear complete with Disney characters or the collars made up of Disney’s iconic Mickey Mouse silhouette, the collection has a relaxed feel to make dressing with flair a breeze.

Lambert has also designed childrens wear for the first time. Prints, patterns and silhouettes from the men’s and women’s collections are reworked in smaller sizes to offer up a stylish wardrobe for little ones.

Going to the parks and celebrating Disney’s Mickey & Friends just always feels like a moment to dress up for. With AW GEE! WOW, I have this vision of mothers and daughters, and fathers and sons – all the family! – getting dressed up together in the matching pieces and it being such a special moment for happy memories,’ shares Lambert.

For girls, characters inspire sweet party dresses, relaxed separates and vibrant knitwear, with fuzzy fabrics bringing fun textures to coats, long-length scarves and oversized hats. The boys’ collection takes on vintage sportswear inspirations and includes a baseball jacket and varsity sweater, influenced by Disney characters intended to be paired with stripey Breton tops, tartan trousers and insignia knits.

The collection can be seen in a classic TV game show format with Lambert as its stylish host with his new pals as the surprise celebrity guests, who have come along to bring some extra-special magic (and mischief) to the show.

Here, the collection comes alive alongside Disney’s Mickey & Friends as it is worn under the bright lights of the sound stage. The playful, characterful feel of the pieces all play into the game show contestants’ personalities, helped along by their new special friends, a cheering audience, the fun of the game show and its familiar scenes and set-ups.

Disney’s Mickey & Friends weren’t the only VIPs on set: Lambert invited his nephew, mum and dad, too. Lambert says: ‘I loved being able to share this same feeling of wonder I had as a child with my nephew. To meet Mickey Mouse and his friends in a new environment of my own making was a very special, full-circle moment that I was so happy to share with my family.’
